ICONIC scenes from the Sistine Chapel in Rome have been recreated on the ceiling of Malmesbury artist Luke Hollingworth’s garden shed.

The modern Michelangelo, who works under the name Syd, calls his latest masterpiece the Sydstine Chapel.

The nine panels, which he finished in a 72-hour marathon, depict his own cheeky twist on famous scenes, including ET’s finger instead of God’s in the Creation of Adam, God parting the waters for the Exodus with a No Entry sign and Steve Jobs of Apple Computers in the Temptation of Adam.

Michelangelo took four years between 1508 and 1512 to complete his epic work in the Vatican chapel where cardinals hold their conclave to decide the next pope.

Luke’s Stencil Shed includes a mini cider pub, an art studio and “man space” complete with sofa and woodburner. He decided to give it a final Renaissance flourish as part of a bid to win a national shed of year competition run by readersheds.co.uk.
