YOUNG and old alike made a splash for a good cause at Cotswold Water Park on bank holiday Monday.

The event at South Cerney Outdoor saw visitors try out a range of activities both on the water and off while raising more than £1,500 for pupils at Cirencester’s Paternoster School to spend the day at the centre.

The centre’s commercial manager Matt Pritchard, of Prospects, which took over the lease of the site in November last year, said he was delighted by how well the day had gone.

"Our vision is for local people to be able to use our facilities which is why we organised this open day and launched our Pay and Play boat hire which is not available with the same quality and range of equipment anywhere else in the Cotswold Water Park," he said.

"This is just one of the improvements we have planned as part of Prospects in South Cerney Outdoor."
