12:16pm Friday 15th March 2013 in News By Ian Craig
AN APPEAL has been made for anyone who witnessed a fatal collision on the M4 near Newport early this morning.
A 67-year-old Cardiff man was killed in the crash on the eastbound carriageway at the entrance of the Brynglas tunnels at around 3am.
The man was driving a dark grey Peugeot 308 saloon which collided with a wall and an electrical sub-station.
Although he was recovered from his vehicle he was pronounced dead at the scene.
CCTV shows a number of drivers stopping at the side of the car immediately after the crash and officers from Gwent police are keen to talk to anyone who witnessed the collision.
Any witnesses are asked to call 01633 642 404.
