Help needed in hunt for valuable antique dress ring stolen from the Cotswolds (From Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard)

The hunt is on for valuable ring with slight imperfection in the stone stolen from Frampton Mansell

AN ANTIQUE aquamarine and diamond dress ring worth more than £2,000 was among items stolen from a house at Frampton Mansell over the past month.

Police are asking Cotswold residents and businesses to be on the lookout for the ring, believed to have been taken at some point from between Wednesday, February 6 and 9.30pm on Wednesday, March 6 from the house off the A419 between Cirencester and Stroud.

The owner has described the ring as having a large oval pale blue stone surrounded by diamonds in a claw setting. It is 18ct white gold but has been dipped in yellow gold. There is also an imperfection in the stone if you hold it up to the light.

The owner estimates it would now be worth around £2000- £3000. A total of £400 in cash was also taken.

Police would like to appeal to antiques dealers and local residents to be on the lookout for this item as it may have been sold recently.
