ROME was not built in a day – but it will soon be available for tourists to download within a matter of minutes.

Cirencester Corinium Museum hopes for a rush in all things Roman as it launches a new mobile app.

The programme gives visitors to the town and museum the chance to experience Roman Cirencester.

It includes an enhanced tour of the museum and learning resources for teachers.

Museum Curator Amanda Hart said the app had already received ‘the thumbs up’ when tested by Deer Park Students.

She said: “This is a godsend for anyone who wants to know about the most fascinating period in Cirencester’s history.”

With artists' impressions of how the town may have looked, as well as local archaeological finds, it also includes a GPS tour of the town to compare what it looks like today and how it was in Roman times.

The app developed by local business TapMob is available to download. For more information call 01285 655611.
