Gun death police officer identified

A MAN found dead with gunshot wounds outside a house in Wiltshire has been formally identified as former police inspector Bill Dowling.
Mr Dowling, 59, who retired from the force in 2007, was discovered in the porch of the property in Devizes with that of his partner just before 11am on Saturday.
Her identity has not yet been released officially, but post mortems have been carried out.
