Former police officer and partner killed in Wiltshire

A COUPLE found shot dead at house in Wiltshire yesterday were a retired police inspector and his partner, a senior detective has revealed.
The former officer, who had 30 years’ service, retired several years ago, Det Ch Insp Ian Saunders told press this afternoon.
The couple, who have not been named officially, were found in the porch of a house on the Moonrakers estate in Devizes just before 11am Saturday. Neighbours reported hearing gunshots that morning and a weapon has been recovered from the scene.
"The investigation continues to try and establish what led to this tragic incident,” said the detective.
Officers from the major crime team are investigating the circumstances and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
