Patriotic retailers pop-up in Moreton-in-Marsh
6:00pm Friday 1st March 2013 in News By Ian Craig
A PATROTIC trio of small businesses have popped up in Moreton-in-Marsh.
The third set of businesses to take up residence at the pop-up shop in Old Market Way are operating under a Best of British banner, selling products celebrating the finest the country has to offer.
The three companies, which will be based at the vacant shop for two weeks, all come from within 20 miles of the north Cotswolds town.
Chipping Norton-based aukward is on hand selling their British-made iPad cases, along with photographer Bob Fryer from Winchcombe who will be offering cards and prints of his stunning images.
Ethical kitchenware company Provenance Reuseful, which is based in Draycott, completes the trio, offering kitchen and tableware made from recycled and sustainable materials.
The innovative PopUp Shop initiative – run by StartUp Britain – has been running out of Moreton for the past few weeks and gives new and small businesses a taste of life in retail.
The scheme has been helping new companies in London to success since last summer, but this is the first time it has ventured outside the capital.
Each tenant is charged only £100 for the entire two-week period, which covers wi-fi access, rent and insurance.
The three businesses will be based at the shop until March 15, when the fourth and final set of tenants will take up residence.
