Pest control charges in the Cotswolds drop ten per cent

PEST control charges in the Cotswolds have been reduced by 10 per cent.

Cotswold District Council voted to reduce the charges at yesterday’s meeting as part of its budget for the next financial year.

Council leader Cllr Lynden Stowe (Con, Campden-Vale) said the reductions could be made thanks to a range of savings made by the authority.

“Every penny counts in this age of austerity and I am sure that this move will be welcomed by those using this service,” he said.

Cabinet member for public protection and pest control Cllr Carole Topple (Con, Riversmeet) echoed his words.

“The council has a first class pest control service and this reduction in charges should encourage more people to engage our professionals to deal competently with problems they may have with rats, mice, wasps and other pests,” she said.

To use the service call 01285 623 000 or email pest.control@cotswold.gov.uk
