THIS weekend marks the last chance this year to see the ever-popular snowdrops at Colesbourne Park.
The estate near Rendcombe, home to Sir Henry Elwes and his wife Lady Carolyn, throws open its doors at the start of every year so visitors can enjoy the spectacular snowdrops throughout the gardens.
Sir Henry said the 250 different varieties of the flower on the estate were still in full bloom.
“Because of the late spring the snowdrops are in terrific condition and even the Christmas ones are still in flower,” he said.
“I do not remember a year like this before.”
Gates open at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday and strong shoes or boots are recommended. Wheelchair users may find it difficult.
Entry is £7 per person. Children and dogs go free.
