Cirencester’s own Batman and Robin stop thief from taking a Macbook from Western Computer on Cricklade Street
7:00am Monday 25th February 2013 in News By Ian Craig
TWO have-a-go-heroes leapt into action after a thief tried to steal a Macbook from a computer shop in Cirencester earlier this month.
The two 19-year-olds gave chase after a 25-year-old man from South Wales tried to steal a Macbook from Western Computer on Cricklade Street on Saturday February 9.
The intrepid twosome chased the thief into Ashcroft Road and caught up with him in a garden on Querns Lane, where they detained him and called police.
Western Computer manager Ali Hoff said he had been upstairs when one of his colleagues shouted the theft was in progress and was “amazed” by what the dynamic duo had done.
“It’s just amazing,” he said. “We’re so grateful to those guys.”
The thief was arrested and charged with theft and will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Thursday March 7.
He has been ordered not to enter Gloucestershire except to attend court.
