South Cerney drug dealer Lee Walsh admits having cannabis worth £1,300
5:10pm Thursday 21st February 2013 in News
SOUTH Cerney drug dealer Lee Walsh was caught with cannabis worth £1,300 as well as illegal pills, a court has heard.
The 28-year-old had originally claimed he was simply looking after more than three-quarters of a kilo of cannabis. But at a hearing at Gloucester Crown Court today he admitted he was an active supplier of the drug.
Walsh, of Broadway Lane, South Cerney, had been due in court for a Newton Hearing which would have determined how involved in the offence he had been but his admission meant that hearing was scrapped.
Steve Young, defending, said Walsh now accepted the prosecution allegations against him and asked for a pre-sentence report to be prepared before Walsh's sentence.
Recorder Michael de Navarro QC bailed Walsh untill March 15 telling him a "relatively short immediate prison sentence" was likely.
Walsh had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to having 759grams of the Class B drug on April 26, 2012. He also admitted possession of 614 tablets of diazepam, a Class C drug.
Sentence will be carried out on March 15.
