A MAN in his 60s has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A419.

The man, who was a passenger in a black Peugeot 206, was trapped by his feet in the car following the two-car crash near the entrance to 29 Regiment and had to be cut free by firefighters.

He was taken by ambulance to Great Western Hospital, Swindon. It is not known if his injuries are serious.

A red Peugeot 406 was also involved in the crash, but no one else is thought to have been hurt.

The road is closed in both directions and is expected to be shut for some time.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 232 of February 20.
