PLANS to build a £2million training centre for 64 race horses is to be built near the village of Ebrington if approved by councillors. If given the go ahead the centre will be an extension to an equestrian business already based at the site and will create around twelve jobs.
However, concerns have been raised by Ebrington parish council regarding the effect that the plans could have on the surrounding area, with claims that the centre will increase traffic and the landscape will be changed from a “peaceful one to a working landscape intruded upon by buildings, fences and gallops.”
It will be argued, however, that the positive economic benefits of the proposal will outweigh any reservations regarding the impact the centre will have on the surrounding environment. Cotswold District Council will vote on the plans on Wednesday.
