UPDATE: Hailstorm suspected cause of multiple crash near Air Balloon roundabout

A SUDDEN hailstorm is suspected to be the cause of a seven-car crash on the A436.

Heavy hailstones and icy conditions have been blamed for the crash, which took place on the A436 between the Air Balloon roundabout and Seven Springs.

The road is now closed and will be closed for several hours.

Several of the cars are believed to have flipped on to their roofs in the crash, which took place at around 3.30pm.

No reports of serious injuries have been made, but emergency services are currently on scene treating 11 patients in total.
