New website helps young people in Gloucestershire find jobs
2:00pm Sunday 10th February 2013 in News By Ian Craig
MORE than 100 businesses across Gloucestershire have signed up to a new website to help young people find jobs.
Gloucestershire County Council is launching the yes2jobs website next week to link opportunities with young people in schools and colleges looking for work.
Businesses are invited to upload jobs, apprenticeships or work placements they have available, which the council will then take to schools and colleges across the county to match with the right young people.
GCC leader Cllr Mark Hawthorne (Con, Moreland) said the council and businesses were keen to give young people the right incentives to stay in Gloucestershire.
“I would urge any business that thinks it may have something to offer, whether it’s a week’s work experience, an apprenticeship right up to a full time job, to register,” he said.
“Once we start linking opportunities with young people at the end of the month I am confident this scheme will make a big difference.”
The website at yes2jobs.co.uk goes live tomorrow.
