Council Taxpayer says...

This is the worst fiasco at Cotswold DIstrict Council since Chief Executive David Neudegg blew £19,000 on hiring a magician to cheer up the staff.
The cabinet system, which puts huge power into the hands of a bunch of incompetent councillors, is a lamentable failure.
Rather than standing up for the the interests of local taxpayers, senior councillors caved in to a sob story from Ubico bosses that they couldn't cope with a few inches of snow,
Then, rather than tasking officers to draw up an emergency schedule of collections after the thaw, the council inexplicably resumed the original timetable, leaving those who had missed out without a full collection for an entire month.
This demonstrates such a shoddy contempt for the local electorate that figures like council leader, Cllr Lynden Stowe, will find it difficult to ask residents to support his campaign for re-election to the county council at the elections in May.
What we now need is a full account from CDC of exactly what went wrong, who took the decision to stop all collections and whether our elected representatives are too weak and useless to stand up to the bullying of a big company like Ubico.
The errors of the Tory administration at CDC are stacking up like a pile of stinking bin bags,
The people's verdict on such a performance is obvious - RUBBISH!

It's time we brought back the stocks, or a refund on Council Tax for the lack of a statutory service.
