No great escape for Houdini the chicken

THERE was no escaping for a chicken called Houdini when an 11-foot high wall came crashing down onto her coop.
On Sunday, Houdini and her feathered friend Dino had been enjoying the sunshine in their Cirencester garden.
But overnight catastrophe struck.
The Cotswold stone wall that stood behind their wooden hen house had weakened in the damp and frosty weather and it suddenly collapsed, burying the pair underneath.
Owners Mark and Sue Brayne said they could not believe it when they looked out of their window and saw a pile of rubble where their chickens used to be.
“I flew down when I saw what had happened, the poor old things. We were told that it would have been quick and they wouldn’t have suffered,” Sue said. “RIP chickens.”
