More than 50 crashes in three hours as ice hits Wiltshire commuters.

WILTSHIRE Police dealt with more than 50 crashes across the county in the space of three hours as black ice hit the Monday morning rush hour.

One of the first at 5.36am was a vehicle that went into a ditch at Little Somerford. The A429 between Crudwell and Malmesbury saw three accidents between 6.30am and 7.10am and there were also incidents in Brinkworth, Hullavington, Dauntsey, Hook and Kington St Michael.

A car also got stuck in floodwater at Cricklade.

A total of 55 were recorded between 5am and just after 9am.
