Olympic champ Daley Thompson supports Ninja Tots in awards
12:00pm Monday 28th January 2013 in News By Laura Shack
DOUBLE Olympic gold medallist Daley Thompson has backed a Cirencester organisation, which trains-up ninja toddlers, for a major award.
Martial arts group Ninja Tots is in the running for the title of UK’s Best Children’s Activity Provider in the Tommy’s Baby-friendly Awards 2013.
Award winners will be decided by a public vote, which is due to close on February 18.
Founded by Cirencester resident Victoria Foote, Ninja Tots runs classes for two to 11-year-olds at Cotswold Leisure Centre and was visited by Daley Thompson last summer after the group was recognised by Olympic charity ‘Join In’.
The decathlete champion showed his support for the group by tweeting: "I love ninja tots and happy to vote for them."
For every vote cast in the public vote, £1 will be donated by parenting club Bounty to the Tommy’s charity, which funds vital medical research into pregnancy complications.
