Christopher Basterfield of Austin Road, Cirencester, Andrew Morris of Hawthorn Rise, Stoud, Matthew John Jordan of Park Road, Gloucester and Sophie Storr are accused of a heated row in the car park of Tesco in Stroud

A CIRENCESTER man is among four people accused of a heated row in a supermarket car park in Stroud.

Christopher Basterfield, 24, of Austin Road appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court last week.

Also appearing were Andrew Morris, 21, of Hawthorn Rise, Stoud, Matthew John Jordan, 24, of Park Road, Gloucester and Sophie Storr, 18, of no fixed address.

All four are accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards each other in order to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence in the car park of Tesco on Stratford Road, Stroud on November 3 last year.

They all denied the charges, claiming they were acting in self-defence.

They were bailed on condition they avoid the supermarket and do not contact anyone who witnessed the incident. The trial was adjourned until May 14.
