Appeal to flush out loo seat-wielding crook
1:30pm Thursday 17th January 2013 in News
A POTTY criminal who tried and failed to break into a Cotswold pub using a toilet seat lid is being searched for by police.
The man is believed to have tried to force the back doors of the building in Market Place, Coleford, between 4am and 9.30 am yesterday.
It was reported that he first tried to use a concrete block. But when that failed he returned for a second time to try and prise a door open with a toilet lid. Again he was unsuccessful and finally gave up.
PC Michelle Screen said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of St John Street in Coleford between the hours of 4am and 5am.
“It is believed there may have been some members of the public in the area that saw a man acting suspiciously.
“The suspect is described as white, of medium build, wearing a long, light coloured coat, white trousers and possibly carrying something.”
Anyone who may have information should call 101, quoting incident 84 of January 16.
