Malmesbury flood victims can write to appeal fund

MALMESBURY flooding victims who want help from the appeal fund to replace their damaged property are being told to write to the town hall.
Cllr Sue Poole told colleagues on the town council last week it had not been made clear to everyone who was affected how to go about applying for help from the fund.
Mayor Ray Sanderson said everyone had been approached apart from one family who could not be contacted. But he said: “All they have to do is write in with their request. We have fulfilled every request so far.”
“People are saying they want it when they move back in,” he added. The Old Corporation had promised to notify the fund when people were due to move back to its properties so whatever was needed could be bought.
