SINGER and actress Paloma Faith is set to bring her unique brand of soulful pop to the spectacular surroundings of Westonbirt Arboretum this summer.

The Brit Award nominee – who shot to fame with her 2009 debut album Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful? – will be performing at the attraction on June 22 as part of the Forestry Commission’s Forest Live series of concerts.

The singer-songwriter – who has also been nominated for Best British Female and Best Album for her second release Fall From Grace in this year’s Brit Awards – said she was "really excited" to be performing at the arboretum.

"It's going to be a great experience so I hope you will be able to join me on my woodland adventure this summer," she said.

The multi-talented Londoner has also acted in films including The Imagination of Doctor Parnassus and is set to appear in a television adaptation of P. G. Woodhouse’s Blandings later this year.

The Forest Live programme brings music to outdoor attractions across the country and all income goes towards improving forests for visitors and wildlife.

She is the third act to join a star-studded line-up to play at the arboretum this summer with iconic New Wave pioneers Blondie set to appear on June 21.

The band – fronted by punk rock icon Deborah Harry – reformed in 1997 after splitting up in 1982 following the release of their sixth album and have sold more than 40m records worldwide.

Superstar Paul Weller – known for fronting punk legends The Jam and experimental 80s outfit The Style Council – will also bring his unique brand of rock to the arboretum on July 20.

Tickets for the concert by Weller – also known as The Modfather for his part in the 80s Mod revival – have proved so popular they have already sold out.

Tickets are available now for Blondie and go on sale for the Paloma Faith concert at 9am on Friday from 03000 680 400 or forestry.gov.uk/music
