Horse medication stolen in Leigh stableyard burglaries

THIEVES stole horse medication including worm treatments in burglaries at two stableyards at Leigh near Cricklade.

A chainsaw, clippers, welding gear, a circular saw and a small generator were taken from one yard and the medication, which also included the anti-inflammatory Bute, were stolen from the other where a lorry also had a window smashed to gain access to a CD player.

Police say the gates to both yards were locked overnight between December 28 and 29, but equipment was left insecure. Officers urged owners to ensure their property is locked away.

PCSO Sam Walsh said: “I just want to remind people to make it as hard as possible for anyone to take anything.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
