Sign up to Gloucestershire County Council's Collective Energy Switch programme to save energy costs
9:11am Wednesday 9th January 2013 in News By Ian Craig
WITH fuel bills rising every day residents are being invited to work together to get a better deal.
Gloucestershire County Council this week launched the Collective Energy Switch campaign, helping residents get a better deal on their gas and electricity bills by changing suppliers together rather than shopping around on their own.
Once residents are signed up to the scheme GCC will choose an energy provider it believes can provide the best value – it is hoped a large number of people will help drive down prices and make offers competitive.
All residents need to do is sign up and the council will do the rest – a personalised offer will be received from the energy provider in February and there is no obligation to accept this.
Residents interested in getting involved in the scheme can register from Monday January 14 at gloucestershire.gov.uk/fairenergy or by calling 01452 425 757 between 8.30am and 5pm.
Sign up sessions will also be held on Wednesday January 23 at Cirencester library from 9.30am to 1pm and Tetbury library from 2.30pm to 5pm and the following day at libraries in Stow-on-the-Wold from 10am to 1pm and Moreton-in-Marsh from 2-5pm.
The deadline for registration is midnight on Monday January 28.
