TOURISM centres run by Cotswold District Council have won acclaim.
Cirencester’s Corinium Museum was crowned Small Visitor Attraction of the Year in the Cotswold Tourism gold awards while Moreton Area Centre was named Visitor Information Provider of the Year.
Judges described the museum as an “absolute treasure” that “should be praised for the quality of its collection and presentation.”
The tourist information facility at the Corinium Museum also won a silver award in the Visitor Information provider category.
CDC Cabinet member for customer services Cllr Barry Gibbs (Con, Tetbury) singled out staff at both centres for praise saying: “they are a real credit to the council and deserve praise for their very positive ‘can do’ attitude.”
Both centres are also set to be entering the national Visit England Awards.
