Cirencester woman dies following A429 crash

A WOMAN died after she was hit by a car on a dual carriageway in Cirencester yesterday evening.

The 59-year-old woman from Cirencester was attempting to cross the A429 between the Waitrose and Stroud Road roundabouts at around 5.50pm yesterday when she was hit by a black Audi.

She was taken to Swindon’s Great Western Hospital with major traumatic head and chest injuries but later died.

It is believed she had been crossing towards the Chesterton area from a bus stop on the opposite side of the road.
