A MAN suffered facial injuries after he was attacked Cirencester early on New Year’s Day.

Police said the 21-year-old man had spoken to another man outside the Somewhere Else bar on Castle Street just after 3am, who then headbutted and punched him.

The attacker then walked off towards the leisure centre on Tetbury Road.

The victim was taken by police to Cirencester Hospital for treatment and is understood to have needed surgery for his injuries.

The attacker was described as white, around 18 years old and was roughly 6ft tall, slim with short dark blond hair. He was wearing a grey t-shirt.
