Cyclist hurt in Cirencester crash

A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after a crash on the outskirts of Cirencester this morning.

The cyclist – thought to be in his 30s – was hurt in a crash on the Cirencester Road at around 7.15am this morning in which a car swerved off the road into an embankment with A419.

He was treated at the scene for a minor ankle injury and was also complaining of lower back pain, so was placed on a spinal board and taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

The female driver of the car – who is believed to be in her 20s – was shaken but not hurt and was treated at the scene.
