SANDBAGS are being filled in Malmesbury as the river levels continue to rise.
The Environment Agency has now issued a flood warning for the Upper Avon between Malmesbury and Melksham.
The football pitch at the Flying Monk ground is already under water and volunteers have been on the scene preparing sandbags in a bid to protect the clubhouse which was badly affected during last month’s flooding.
Meanwhile local people have now set up their own flooding information page using local knowledge to help residents and businesses cope with the deluge.
The locations of free sandbag supplies are listed along with equipment hire and clean up services at the malmesburyfloodinfo.weebly.com site created by Malmesbury and the Villages Community Area Partnership.
