A GLOUCESTERSHIRE hospital has received a boost thanks to a generous donation.

At a dinner at Minchinhampton Golf Club arranged by the Friends of Tetbury Hospital, Highgrove Enterprises chief executive Christine Prescott presented hospital manager Catherine Jefferies with a cheque for £1,000.

Catherine said she was very grateful for the donation and said fundraising by groups such as the Friends was vital in enabling the hospital to offer the best possible care.

“Without the funds raised by the Friends there would be no Tetbury Hospital,” she said. “For instance, we have recently purchased a C-ARM – a mobile X-Ray device used in the hospital’s operating theatre.

“The cost was £60,000, but it has enhanced the range of procedures the hospital can offer the local community and to the NHS.”

She continued that, although the hospital is owned by a trust, many of its services are used by the NHS.

BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Mark Cummings was also on hand at the vent to entertain the guests with a colourful account of his life as a broadcaster.
