PRIMARY school pupils in Cirencester will be extra safe when walking to and from school in the dark winter months thanks to a generous local opticians.
Cirencester Primary School has been given 100 high-visibility vests by the town’s branch of Specsavers as part of this week’s Road Safety Week.
The school’s executive head teacher Graham Horton said he as “delighted” by the donation.
“I’ve no doubt that the vests will make a big difference,” he said. “Anything that helps to improve the safety of our pupils is welcomed by us.”
Cirencester Specsavers store director Catherine Perkinson said she felt it was important children are seen clearly now the clocks have gone back.
“Hopefully the vests will give teachers and parents some peace of mind,” she said.
