Women rescued from floods near Minety

TWO women had to be rescued from their car by firefighters in the early hours of today after becoming trapped in two feet of flood water between Minety and Somerford Keynes.
They were among 11 people stranded on roads around Wiltshire since yesterday morning.
Firefighters were also called to pump out homes in several villages including Minety.
In Malmesbury football club committee members and volunteers spent hours this morning working to keep water out of the clubhouse.
The car park was under at least a foot of water and the changing rooms and skittle alley were worst affected inside the building.
