A cyclist suffered a cracked skull when he was in a crash with a car in Portslade on Tuesday evening (October 30).

The 24-year-old Portslade man, who was riding a Specialized Enduro mountain bike, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton following the collision.

It happened at 5.51pm on the roundabout junction of the B2193 Church Road and Vale Road.

He remained under observation on Wednesday morning having sustained lacerations to his head and a bleed on the brain.

The driver of the Nissan Figaro involved, a 54-year-old woman from Shoreham, was treated for shock.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to call 101 quoting serial 1294 of 30/10.
