AFTER more than 20 years as the friendly faces behind The Bull Hotel in Fairford, the Dudley family is passing the buck to new management.

Sherrie and Mark Dudley have been running the popular Arkell’s hotel in Market Place for 21 years while Mark's mum Judy has been pulling pints for more than 30 years.

Now the family are looking for a break and from this month local couple, Ian and Liz Summer, will step into the role.

Dating back to the 15th century when it was used as a monks’ chanting house, the hotel has needed a lot of care and investment over the years to keep it up to scratch.

And at a presentation event on Friday, October 12, George Arkell paid tribute to the "huge contributions" the Dudleys have made to ensure its continued success.

Mr Arkell added: "We are really pleased to welcome Ian and Liz Summers to The Bull and look forward to the future of this wonderful Cotswold hotel."

With around 25 years experience in catering and having worked in some of Europe’s finest restaurants and hotels, Ian said he was raring to "bring something different" to the hotel.

Customers can soon expect to see a menu overhaul, with an emphasis on local and seasonal produce.
