ONE of the most spectacular trees at the National Arboretum at Westonbirt is putting on a colourful show as Autumn sets in.

The Japanese maple (Acer palmatum) in the arboretum’s Silk Wood is thought to be the most photographed tree in the arboretum, and is currently attracting hordes of amateur snappers, keen to capture its beauty.

The Forestry Commission are encouraging wannabe photographers to share photos of their visits to Westonbirt on its Facebook page, or on the Commission’s Flickr group.
