Men arrested in Malmesbury high street drama

TWO men were arrested after driving the wrong way down Malmesbury High Street and abandoning their car in a bid to escape police.
The alarm was raised just before 1.30pm today when a householder in the Parklands area spotted men apparently taking tools from a workman’s van.
Minutes later two suspects were arrested in the town centre. Witnesses reported seeing police converge on a Mondeo from both directions and two men running into Lloyds bank where they are understood to have removed some of their clothes in a bid to change their appearance.
