TEACHERS and students limbered up in true Olympic-style when the Cirencester Junior School and Cirencester Infant School joined forces for a Summer Fair last month.

Taking the Games as their theme, the Fair opened after a fun run through the town.

Two members of staff, Mrs Jones and Mrs Nelson, dressed up as Olympians and ran through the town with some of the pupils and parents.

Then it was all the fun of the Fair, with the traditional cream teas, bbq and face-painting. An amazing total of £3,700 was raised on the day for the schools.

Those with energy left could carry on the Olympic theme with a host of sports activities laid on, including hurdles, basketball and hockey.

PTA member, Flora Ellis, said "The children especially enjoyed the free activities we had going out on the field - it meant that most people stayed for the whole afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was good to have the two schools holding an event together."
