Gloucestershire gardens open to the public this weekend

NATIONAL Garden Scheme gardens open in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire for charity this weekend include the following:

Sunday , May 18 * Eastleach House, Eastleach Martin near Fairford 2-5pm, plants and teas, much to see in this large and beautiful all-year-round garden which was featured in a calendar last year.* Green Cottage, Lydney 2-5pm, plants and teas, country garden and woodland planted for seasonal interest and wildlife; shade-loving plants. (National Collection of paeonies) * Meadow Cottage, Coalway, near Coleford 2-6pm, plants and teas, plantaholic craftworker's cottage garden includes waterfall, containers and vegetables in raised beds.* Pear Tree Cottage, 58 Malleson Rd, Gotherington near Cheltenham 2-5pm, plants and teas, mainly informal garden with all-season interest; vegetables and greenhouses.* Stanway Fountain & Water Garden, near Winchcombe 2-5pm, teas, newly restored Baroque water garden in 20 acres of formal landscape. The world's highest gravity fountain.* Stowell Park, near Northleach 2-5pm, plants and teas, large garden has terraced lawns, herbaceous borders, rose pergola, colour themed plantings and two walled gardens.* Vine Farm, Malvern Rd, Staunton 2-6pm, teas, a developing wildlife and country garden of several acres with productive vegetable area, scented plants and climbers.* Biddestone Manor, on A4 between Chippenham & Corsham, 2-5pm, teas, peaceful eight acres with small lake and streams, wild flowers, arboretum with grasses and bulbs, walled kitchen garden, orchard, cutting garden, beautiful shrub borders. C17 Manor House (not open) with ancient dovecote.TuesdayWednesday/Thursday, May 20/21/22 * Tinpenny Farm, Fiddington, near Tewkesbury 9am-1pm, plants, see what an amazing plant collection can be grown in a windswept garden on thick clay.
