FARMOR'S school fashionistas proved their design skills when they entered a nationwide fashion competition and took second and first prize.
The budding young designers had to create an outfit to be made from recycled clothes and accessories.
The competition, run by sewing machine giant Brother, was judged by London-based recycled fashion pioneers Junky Styling.
The company has made use of second hand clothes for fashion over the last ten years and recently published a book for ethical style fashionistas called Green is the New Black.
Schools and colleges across the UK took part in the competition but the outstanding first prize went to Farmor's School Year 10 pupil Frances Dodwell whose design won the school a top of the range Brother sewing machine.
Her winning creation will be made by Junky Styling.
The rest of the textile class won second prize which was a signed copy of the new book.
Textile teacher at Farmor's School Claire Andrews-Alsaigh said: "This is another outstanding achievement for Farmor's School where our Textile students are extremely creative and excelling in the subject area. I am really proud of the students and their achievements."
