CIRENCESTER claimed their first league win of the season in a closely-fought match.

Although the away team hit the bar, the Centurions had more chances throughout the match and were eventually rewarded when Kai Jarvis scored. MoM: Jordan Day.

Swindon Rangers B U10s 0, Cirencester G U10s 6.

CIRENCESTER started this Cup game with pace and they were soon 1-0 up thanks to a goal by Max Lloyd.

Ciren pressed on and played their best football of the season to go in 4-0 up at half time, two more goals coming from Max Lloyd, while Robbie James added the other.

James Cox came on in the second half and was rewarded with a goal after good work from Max Arnold and Aiden Kielty.

James added his second goal and the game finished 6-0. MoM: Max Arnold.

Wanborough U13s 8, Cirencester Town B U13s 3.

CIRENCESTER were left to rue missed chances again as they went down to another defeat in a hard-fought game.

The only difference between the sides was the finishing from the Wanborough front line.

Scorers for Ciren were: Mike Simpson, Clayton Shutt and Kieron Knowles.

Southside U14s 0, Cirencester Town U14s 17.

TOWN centre forward Oliver Jones produced an outstanding display of clinical finishing to score 10 goals against a Southside team who failed to produce a single shot on goal in this first round League Cup tie.

The gap between the two sides was clearly evident, however, 10-man Southside never let their heads drop.

Ciren's midfield of Zach Bougen, Nick Gregory, Zac Whitlock and Luke Turfrey all produced good passing football to create chance after chance for the forwards, which resulted in a record scoreline for the team in all competitions.

Town goal scorers were: Jones (10), Ben Saunders (two), Josh Wring, Gregory, Ashley Smith and Jozef Freeman. There was also an own goal. MoM: Oliver Jones.

Cirencester Girls U16s 7, Cheltenham Town 1.

CIRENCESTER remain joint top with Bristol's St Nicholas after an easy, but not convincing, win against a battling Cheltenham side.

Ciren got off to a flier when a fantastic move which started with the keeper and involved many of the team, resulted in Katie Kingshott blasting the ball home for 1-0.

After 14 minutes it was 2-0 when Aimee Thomson volleyed home a Katie Kingshott corner from close range. The rest of the half became a scrappy affair with Ciren struggling to dictate the game.

Ciren created more chances as Cheltenham tired in the second half and they wrapped up the game when Chyna Collings and then Sammie Smith converted corners from Kingshott.

Thomson made it five after a fumble by the Cheltenham keeper. A 25-yard strike from Elle Maynard eluded the keeper for number six and Kingshott made it seven when beating the Cheltenham offside trap.

Minchinhampton Rangers U8s 2, Avonvale United U8s 0.

VALE were made to work very hard against a determined Rangers at Minch School on Saturday.

Having kept the home side at bay for a long period in the first half through never-say-die defending from Angus Perry, Rangers finished off a goalmouth tussle to go one up.

However Vale's midfield of Lorcan Purser, Johnny Kite and James Skeldon keep battling for possession. Jordan Newman and William Thomas continued to find opportunities to equalise with Thomas coming close with a fine strike.

Strong defending from Theo Martin and keeper Adam Foster withheld the further waves of Rangers attacks until late in the game when they claimed their second.

Avonvale Utd U9s Wotton Rovers U9s 0.

GEORGE Pearson opened the scoring as the home side cruised through this group stage game in the Carol Jenner Cup.

With Pearson adding another, Luke Pitman getting a brace and Owen Johnson hitting a hat-trick, the result was never in doubt. Wotton battled hard throughout but were kept at bay by some excellent keeping from Vale's Freddie Finlay. MoM: Owen Johnson.

Churchdown Panthers U16s 0, Beeches U16s 8.

AFTER two weeks without a game Beeches started strongly against opponents they had already beaten 7-0 in the season's opener at home.

A long clearance chased down by Jody Lawrence, broke to Joe Gardiner, who drove it home. Liam Moss then combined with Lawrence for his first of the match.

On 34 minutes, Lawrence and strike partner Andy Butt combined to set up Gardiner's second.

Gardiner then won a tackle and sent Ashley Warriner away to find Butt's run and he scored well.

Next came a fine individual goal from Lawrence.

The second half started with a good run and finish from man of the match Gardiner.

The keeper fumbled on 48 minutes to let in Andy Butt for his deserved second.

The final goal came 10 minutes from time after Lawrence slid in the pacy Dave Seager.

Bourton Rovers U8s 3, Bampton Town U8s 0.

BOURTON kept their unbeaten run going with a hard-fought encounter against Bampton.

With the away team defending on the edge of their own box, Rovers were shooting from long range, but they couldn't get past the excellent Bampton keeper.

Rovers did breakthrough on 10 mins when the two Toby's, Hitchman and Crammen, combined to set up Alex Winter who smashed the ball home.

Bampton had the odd effort but Tommy Brown was in fine form in the Rovers goal.

Bourton went 2-0 up at the start of the second half through Winter, who was put through by Jimmy Robb.

Brown then tipped a goal bound Bampton effort brilliantly round the post. With two minutes left Winter completed his hat-trick.

Fairford U7s 4, Lambourne U7s 6.

LAMBOURNE dominated the game, scoring three goals in the first half.

Christopher Harris scored for Fairford and Harvey New added another when set up by defender James Clare.

Fairford fought back after half time and Harris completed a hat-trick.

Despite some great saves by first-time goal keeper Jake Summers, Lambourne went on to score three more goals. MoM: Harry Bunn.

Purton FC Youth and Minors round up.

PURTON U16s defeated Old Town Utd 4-0 at the Red House with goals by Dean Hobbis (two), Kai Saadi and Jordan Braide.

Purton U15s in the League Cup progressed with a 4-1 home win over Cricklade Youth with strikes from Daniel Cole, Luke Giles, Louis Elton and Pavan Bhakta.

Purton U112s defeated Fairford 7-3 with Connor Vincent (four), Jake Evans, Peter Ffoulkes and an own goal giving them the points.

Purton U11s failed to score in their 7-0 defeat by Stratton Juniors in their league game.

Purton U10s A beat Blunsdon Colts B with a goal scored by Callum Donnan in their league game.

Purton U10s B in the Cup lost 6-1 away at Brinkworth Cats A, a side two divisions above them. Rhys Legg netted Purton's goal.

Purton U9s A scored goals by Matthew Hibbs, Zach Steele and Bradley Phillips but lost 5-3 at home to Swindon Soccer Skills.

Purton U9s B, despite two goals from Nathan Collins, went down 7-2 to Ashton Keynes B.

Stratton Youth round up.

THE U8s were beaten 6-1 at White Horse Juniors, Tom Chisholm the scorer of the consolation goal.

The U9s, under new manager Mark Wright, got off to a good start winning at home to Penhill Knights 8-1. Scorers - James Winfield (3), Gabriel Lee (2), Robbie Webster and Owain Rose one apiece and an own goal.

The U10s lost 1-0 at Cirencester Town.

The U11s, away to Cricklade, returned with the three points. A missed penalty by Stratton saw them reach the break with the game goalless but constant pressure saw them take the lead through Max Luckaweckyj and Charlie Savage.

The home side pulled a goal back before Cory Pitts scored the goal of the game when he ran 50 yards with the ball before hitting his shot from the edge of the box into the far corner of the goal.

The U14s Colts overran Golden Valley Ranges with an 11-0 win that keeps them top.

The U16s lost away from home 6-3, Joe Ranger (1) and Billy Breen (2) the scorers.

Stratton Colts U14s 11, Golden Valley 0.

GOLDEN VALLEY started the brighter of the two teams and but for two smart saves from home Keeper Cook could have taken the lead.

Bartlett opened the scoring for Stratton after 15 minuets and Baker added a second.

Two further goals before the interval from Bartlett and Allen slightly flattered the Colts.

The quality of Stratton's second half football was much better and they scored a further seven times. Beasley adding four while got his second of the game.

Powell and man-of-the-match Power got one each.

Uffington Boys U14s 1, Tetbury Town U14s 5.

TOWN gained a hard-earned three points, to take them to the top of the Division.

In the first half, Ryan Leather scored a hat-trick and Glenn Freeman headed in a fourth.

Players rotated in the second half as Tetbury found it more difficult to find the net.

Leather went in goal to give Joe Snell a run out and late on Tetbury added a fifth from Adam Neal.

Despite not having a full team, Uffington battled hard and deserved their only goal.

Congratulations to Ryan Rhino' Leather, Glenn Freeman and Joe Snell from Tetbury Town F.C. who were selected to play for the U14s North Wilts & District Youth & Minor League Representative Team.

The boys took on Oxford United Advanced Soccer Centres last Thursday at Fairford Town FC and won 3-1.
