Churn Family Fun Day set to be best yet


FREE and low cost activities for all the family at the seventh Churn Family Fun Day in St. Michael's Park, Cirencester on Sunday, May 10, 1-5pm and this year's event is all set to be bigger and better than before.

New for 2009 are a falconry display, climbing wall and low cost beauty treatments from Tranquillity at Cirencester College. Ladies Morris Dancers will be providing a traditional dance display. There will be fairground rides, a free bouncy castle, circus skills and free craft activities. Pekko's Puppets will be running two new free puppet shows with linked craft workshop put on by Brewery Arts. Children get to take part in the shows with their handmade puppets.

Many local organisations and charities will be running activities, raising funds and their local profile by taking part. Mayor Shirley Alexander opens the event at 1pm.

Marquee events: 1pm Corinium Players Guitar Ensemble; 2pm Prize Giving for Colouring Competition; 2.45pm and 4pm Puppet Show; 4.45pm Sports Prize Giving. Outdoor displays: 1.30pm Falconry Display; 2.15pm Ladies Morris Dancing; 3.15pm Falconry Display; 4.50pm Balloon Release from Fosseway Living Stand.
