CIRENCESTER'S leading 80s synth-pop covers band Binomial have been announced as the headline act for the opening night of Swindon's Festival on the Farm.

The annual event at Purton House Organics' Farm is a three day music festival boasting great bands, food and beer.

From its humble beginnings in 2009 Festival on the Farm has grown in stature to become a highlight of the musical calendar and attracts the cream of local talent and capacity crowds.

Cirencester band Binomial, formed in 2011 by singer/songwriter Paul Dodson and BBC Introducing electro/dance artist ALR (AKA Andy Randle), first appeared at the festival in 2015. Their showstopping set of hits by artists including the Pet Shop Boys, Soft Cell, Erasure, Depeche Mode and The Human League secured them the following year's headline slot.

Electronic music has been at the heart of the festival ever since.

Binomial's second headline appearance at Festival on the Farm will be on Friday, August 3.  The first day's line-up is completed with top bands The Dirty Smooth, Raze, Rebuild, Penfold and Hooch.  Festival on the Farm runs from August 3-5.

Binomial singer Paul Dodson said: "We are returning to Festival on the Farm due to popular demand. For our performances to have made such an impact and for the band to have been so well received is terrific.

"This festival is so much fun - for the crowd and the musicians. We are already working on a Binomial set to make opening night even more exciting and memorable."

Ahead of Festival on the Farm, the band can be seen on their home patch on Saturday, April 28 at The Jubilee 77 Club, Ashcroft Road, Cirencester.

This event is open to all.  Admission non-members £3, members £1.  Show starts 9pm.
