STROUD Ceilidhs will feature Evolution Ceilidh band (Urban Folk Theory) on December 2.
The band have been emerging into the folk world since 2011 with a new approach to ceilidh, where excellent folk musicianship meets technology, sweeping audiences into the next generation of full tilt ceilidhs.
The ceilidh begins with a trio (box, fiddle and guitar) and evolves via Cajon, bass and drums throughout the set, until you end up with the full Urban Folk Theory electric line up.
English Ceilidh is energetic, upbeat barn dancing. It is fast, friendly, great fun and a wonderful way to meet new people. The music is from a variety of traditions including folk, roots, jazz and rock.
You don’t need to bring a partner and it doesn’t matter if you haven’t done it before. The caller walks through every dance and prompts you as you dance.
- 8-11pm.
- Tickets £11 advance £12 door (unaccompanied children £5)
