WORLD-renowned fantasy illustrator Rodney Matthews will host a three-day art exhibition, titled Time Winds, at The Victoria Hall in Bourton-on-The-Water between Friday, November 3 and Sunday, November 5.

This is the same venue where he held a popular exhibition ‘Alice in Wonderland and other tales’ in the summer.

The theme “Autumn meets Winter” is guaranteed to get you in the mood for the festive season.

Matthews’ rich creations, set in scenarios beyond the stars and populated by out-of-this-world creatures, have appeared for the past 50 years on the album sleeves of international rock bands, the covers of cult-classic fantasy novels, and sold in millions world-wide in poster format.

As a concept artist, his dream-like worlds have come to life in various computer games and on screen.

Produced by Gerry Anderson, creator of Thunderbirds, Matthews designed Lavender Castle, a 26 episode, animated children’s TV series. The ITV show attracted impressive viewer ratings and received rave reviews.

Original artworks, fine art prints and unique Christmas gifts will be on display and for sale daily.

The exhibition is suitable for children.

Admission is free throughout the day. Opening hours are Friday (10.30am-5pm), Saturday (10.30am – 4pm) and Sunday (10.30am – 5pm).

The venue will re-open in the evening of Saturday, November 4 for ‘An Evening of Art & Music with Rodney Matthews and Oliver Wakeman’, as the exhibition becomes host to a solo performance by award-winning keyboardist and composer Oliver Wakeman.

In a role previously held by his father, Rick Wakeman, Oliver is perhaps best-known for performing over 150 shows with prog band YES.

He has been nominated for the Classic Rock Society's 'Best Keyboard Player' award on many occasions and won for three years in a row.

The pair have crossed paths many times since Wakeman first studied Matthews' art at college.

Some years later, he contacted Matthews and licensed the image Jabberwocky for his concept album of the same name with Clive Nolan. Rodney was back in touch with Oliver a few years ago, who played keyboard on his own album Trinity, which is due out soon.

He did just that and now appears on most of the tracks.

Doors open at 7pm for a drinks reception. The seated performance will be begin at 7.30pm in the upstairs hall.

Following this guests will “meet and greet” Matthews and Wakeman, in the wintery setting of Matthews' exhibition, which will remain open until 10.30pm.
