DR HARKEN’S pioneering surgical work at Stowell Park was recently featured in the Standard.
We thought that few residents knew about the leading role the Cotswolds played in the advancement of heart surgery, but Bill Irving of the Living Memory Historical Association tells us that we would have if we visited their ‘Wartime Life in the Cotswolds’ exhibition on Sheep Street. They have had a display on wartime hospitals, including Dr Harken, for years.
The museum has its last open day for the season this Saturday between 10.30am-4.30pm. Admission is free.
Other openings are by special arrangement on 01825 650012.
