FRESH from a stint at the Edinburgh Fringe, Fire Donkey Productions bring their gloriously absurd award-winning comedy theatre experience to the Stroud Theatre Festival.

Their 'Church of Phil Recruitment Seminar' takes the form of a cult recruitment drive, which tackles human nature, religious icons and caravan holiday parks.

Phil's top recruiters will lead the audience on a surreal multimedia journey through daily life at Camp Phil, featuring retro slideshow presentations, ritual dances, guest speakers, puppetry, human sacrifice, and, of course, a raffle.

Awarded 'Best Original Piece' at the Swindon Fringe Festival in 2017, 'Church of Phil' is the third full production by Pembrokeshire-based absurdists Liam McKenna and Polly Preston of Fire Donkey Productions.

The fifth Stroud Theatre Festival takes place from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 1.

The Church of Phil Recruitment Seminar is on at 6.30pm on September 29 and 4.30pm on September 30 in the Old Town Hall, The Shambles. Tickets are £7 with £5 concessions.
