THE Cirencester String Orchestra’s (Eclectic String Band) Autumn concert will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Stroud at 7-30pm on Saturday, September 16.

The concert will feature The Arensky Variations on a theme by Tchaikovsky, Palladio by Karl Jenkins and a selection of folk and traditional tunes with an American bias arranged for string orchestra.

Cirencester String Orchestra was formed approximately 15 years ago by music teacher Ann Theil.

This concert’s theme is “Eclectic Strings” to reflect the wide range of music performed.

It has attracted players from most of the towns and villages in Gloucestershire and has grown in size to 25 players.

The orchestra will be conducted by Ann Theil and the leader is Steve Jones.

All the music is very approachable and should be enjoyed by all ages.

The group rehearse most Wednesdays at the Church Hall on Watermoor Road in Cirencester, Tickets will be available at the door. Adults £7, and accompanied children free.

Refreshments will be provided after the concert.
