FOLLOWING the successful launch of its Produce and Handicraft Show last year, Coberley Village Fete is once again laying down the challenge to amateur gardeners, food and handicraft producers, photographers and artists to come up with trophy-winning entries to fill its marquee at the 2017 event.

It takes place at the Coberley Primary C of E School on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28.

Produce show secretary, Georgina Kedge said: “Last year’s show saw a very enthusiastic response from the community to compete for the many challenge trophies in a wide range of categories, from vegetables and flowers to preserves and cakes, from handicrafts to painting and photography."

New for this year is a home-made scarecrow competition with classes for both adults and children.

A silver band will be entertaining throughout the afternoon and there will be some visitors from the Cotswold Alpaca herd, with demonstrations of the ancient art of alpaca fleece spinning.

The Fete will again include the popular Dog Show.

There will also be stalls, activities, a BBQ, cream teas a tombola and raffle.

All funds raised will go towards the upkeep of St Giles Church in Coberley.
